If you thought I was grateful before...

....check it out:

Our home inspection was yesterday. It went well and there were only two major items (and two minor ones) that we had to approach the owners about. They came back to us last night and basically said that they'd credit enough $$ back to us at closing to cover about half of all of the expenses for the four items we need fixed. Considering the smokin' deal we got on this house, Brian and I were pretty excited about that.

The most amazing thing, though, was that while we were sitting in the house during the home inspection, we got a call that or house in Reston was going to get an offer made on it. I felt so centered at that moment and it was so cool that we got that information while we were in the new house. It made me feel like the universe was telling us we'd made the right decision and had picked the right house.

So, lo and behold, that afternoon we get a full price offer. No contingencies. In fact, the guy doesn't even need a home inspection on the property (which means we won't have to fix one thing in the house before we move out...). And he wants to close in less than three weeks. What an incredible blessing!!

The only thing I'm waiting to hear back on is when the owners of the new house are going to let us move in. They are willing to move out soon, I think, because they know that we're staying in a teeny tiny hotel room right now and that we're more than happy to pay rent.

Unbelievable. I couldn't have hoped for an outcome as wonderful as this one. Brian and I sat up last night, drinking beer and giggling to ourselves about how things worked out. What a magical day!!
