one meeel-ion dollars!

My very first presentation (face-to-face with clients) was this morning. I'd done online demos before, but never something on-site and never in a county this big.

It was about an hour ad 15 minutes long. It went prett well...I'd give myself a B+. The district is interested, and if it goes through, the deal would probably be a couple million dollars. Which, needless to say, would really help me with my quota.

More importantly however, I am remembering how much I like presenting. I like getting a little nervous beforehand, I love presenting to people and trying to read their reactions, I love opening up dialogues with educators. And it's all a part of my job now. (Did I mention that I'm pretty darn good at it?)

I was well received (personally and professionally), which is really awesome. It's hard to walk into a room full of educators and convince them that you're not just another salesperson. We had a great conversation about content software and what separates the good stuff from the fluff. Then, I walked them through our programs and showed them push button functionalities as well as middle/high school content. I tailored my approach to Special Ed because their focus is on finding a software program for remediation/intervention purposes. I hope I did a good job with this part...

Anyway, they should be getting back to me in the next couple of weeks. Keep your fingers crossed! :)
