Interviews abound but no doggies to be found
I had an interview last night and another one today (in about an hour...). SO far so good. We'll see!
Here's my bummer story from yesterday-- Brian and I went to the Animal Shelter and found a dog that we loved. We decided to wait until later that afternoon to officially adopt him ("Jack") because we wanted to get the house set up. So, I went out and bought food and stuff. I also made an appointment for him to get a check up by my vet, etc.
I'm sure you can guess what's coming.
When Brian went back to pick Jack up and take him home, someone else was in the process of adopting him. And here's the kicker--this is the SECOND time that this has happened to us! There was another doggie that we almost adopted, but we hesitated and he got adopted by somebody else.
I guess it's not the worst thing that could have happened...I mean...the dog could have been put down or something (I don't even like thinking about that...). And I'm sure both dogs are happy. But it's so damn depressing to look around our house and see dog food, dog toys, etc. but NO DOG.
Anyway, I may take a ride over to the shelter today to see if there are any other dogs that would be a good fit for us.
More later--off to my interview.
