Sweet Relief

...I didn't get fired.

Nice Boss totally had my back in the meeting and Devil Boss even (gasp) apologized for "not communicating well" in our "meeting" Tuesday afternoon (if that isn't an understatement, then I don't know what is...).

Nice Boss is working on getting me the hell out of here. And he knows that he doesn't have a lot of time. I was pretty blunt--and told him that I would rather waitress than stay here any longer than I have to. I was able to express just how trapped I feel--Devil Boss helped make it crystal clear that I'm damned if I do, and damned if I don't. Nice Boss was able to see that and is going to do everything he can to help me out. Can't be bad, right?

More than that, though, I was true to myself. I spoke my truth calmly and defended myself, my work ethic, and my work when I needed to. And I'm feeling pretty damn good. Pretty damn good, actually.

Sweet relief!!
